2 Year Old Cutie Sneak Peek | Harrisonburg Children’s Photographer
I can hardly believe this little one is 2 years old already! It seems like just the other day I photographed her as a newborn! Such a girly girl!

Wide Awake | Newborn Portraits | Harrisonburg, Virginia
This little guy did not want to sleep despite our best efforts to make him comfortable! He only wanted food or his pacifier. Even though he only slept for a few minutes here and there we captured some really cute images of him and his family. BTW he had a big sister that was way more interested in Thomas the Train then getting her picture taken! So Thomas came into the studio to ‘help’ us out. It worked! Lots of smiles as Thomas hid from the camera!
Congratulations Glen and Carla on the new addition to your family!
Sweet “P” Before & After | Maternity & Newborn Professional Photos
Maternity and newborn sneak peek! Lanette called me the week before she was due to schedule a maternity session! Could she have been any more beautiful!? I think she is one of the most lovely pregnant women I’ve ever seen! Very much a natural beauty.
Her family has been wonderful to work with. The children (there were three others) are fun to interact with and they were respectful and easy to photograph even when they had to do a family photo twice in a few weeks! They did well
This little guy came just a few days after the maternity session! Isn’t he so sweet?!
Little “C”| Harrisonburg, Va Newborn Professional Photography
Oh my word is this little boy cute or what?! I had the chance to photograph this lovely couple a while back at one of my Annual Fall Portrait Days. Now they are a family of three! This adorable baby did an amazing job being photographed. I learned a few more new things about newborn photography that I can’t wait to use with the next newborn!
Well here is little C’s sneak peek!
Shenandoah Valley Bridal Showcase | Virginia Wedding Photographer
This past Sunday we set up a booth at the Shenandoah Valley Bridal Showcase hosted by Bridal Impressions. My sister helped me out and it was really fun! We were right beside The Wishing Well who just merged with my good friend’s florist shop, The Artistic Florist. It was a pleasure getting to know Terrie and the others as well as learning more about their services. I enjoyed a couple of cupcakes from Cakes by Cathy that were amazing! I had the chance to say hey to fellow photographers which was fun to actually meet some ladies I’ve never met as well as chat with others I’ve known for a while.
I had the chance to chat with some brides and am looking forward to meeting with some of them to discuss photographing their weddings! From what I understand the show was a bit smaller then last year, well actually a lot smaller! That was fine by me because it meant that I now have four vases full of lovely roses in my house! We tied our biz card onto a rose to give to the brides. It was really fun!
Here is our booth!
Happy Tuesday!
A while ago I helped to sponsor a contest that Harrisonburg Family Fitness created. The winner of that contest came in for a family session. I was told they hadn’t had a family portrait done since the kids were super small. I’d say it was time for another one! Time sure does fly doesn’t it?
What a beautiful family!
Bridal Shows Coming Up | Virginia Wedding Photographers
We are going to be participating in two bridal shows this month. I’m pretty excited to get out there and meet people! This Sunday is the Shenandoah Valley Bridal Showcase brought to you by Bridal Impressions. It is at the JMU Festival center from 1 – 4.
Then next week we’ll be at Stonewall Jackson Hotel. Below is some more info about that show.
If you or someone you know is getting married make sure you come out to one or both of these shows! Be sure to stop by our booth!
You may have seen Jack earlier so now I’ll share a few more with you. If you know Jack, ask to see his Coffee Table Album, it’s really cool.
So I have this colleague Stephanie Millner who is an amazing pet photographer currently in Italy. I chatted with her about this session since there was to be a snake involved. She gave me some great tips on how to make a snake calm and comfortable. Fortunately corny {that is the snake’s name, for real} was quite happy and moved slowly and did what we wanted. One thing she told me was to have a medic pack on hand to cool him off if he got too hyper. So off to Rite Aid I went in search of a medic pack {I thought I knew what it was}. The manager {I think he was the manager} helped me look and they didn’t have what I really needed. He thought I had hurt myself or something so I said, “So this is actually for a snake…..” After explaining myself, he dug around in a medical bin that had just came in and handed me some soft cold packs with I put in plastic bags and had on hand for corny. How nice was that?!!!
So any way, the snake was not the only thing we did that day. Jack plays drums and had a really cool jimbay from Africa where he and his family lived for a while. Jack’s little brother, Sam also did something really fun for me. He asked if he could film Jack’s session. He is an aspiring film maker. I wasn’t sure what to expect but what he made was really fun! As soon as I get a copy I can upload somewhere I’ll make a post about it!
Here are a few of Jack’s family’s favorite images! Mine too!
Caroline 2012 Senior | Virginia Senior Portrait Photographer
I met Caroline when she was 13 at her mom’s wedding which I was doing some portraits for. It is hard to believe she is graduating already! She has grown into a very determined young woman. I could tell she knows what she wants and she’s going after it! She gave me a great compliment when we finished her session, which was at her house and their farm. She told me she really didn’t think it was going to be much fun {the session} but with a big smile on her face she confessed that she really had a lot of fun! I love it when I can change the way someone thinks about getting their photo taken.
Caroline
Evan is the third brother I’ve gotten to photograph! What I find so fun about being able to do that is seeing how different siblings can be from one another!
Evan is such an easy going young man and he made it so easy to get so many amazing images of him so as to make his mom cry!
That is what us moms do when we see our kids grow up too fast! I can almost see my little ones as 18 year olds sometimes.
We had a perfect day for his session. The lighting was so sweet that I could have kept going for hours {which even Evan would not have tolerated!} Check out his eyes….ahhmazing….
thanks for trusting me capture Evan at this time in his life, I can hardly wait until his sister comes along in a few years!
